Chicago Animal Care and Control website redesign

Our goal was to redesign the CACC website such that users are provided with necessary information and able to complete important tasks with ease. We also aim to maintain CACC’s mission and values with this website redesign.

We conducted interviews in-person and over Zoom to learn about pain points for the original website and what people would prefer to see. We used the information to develop two personas for users of the redesigned website.
The CACC website attracts and is built for two different users, so we developed problem statements for each.
Our animal detail cards add a friendly and personal touch, allowing users to feel a connection with the potential adoptee. CACC staff would have a bank of words to use to describe the animals to encourage simplicity while providing users with relevant traits.
The original page is difficult to navigate and lacks hierarchy.
